Mark, I don't know. Isn't it okay if it's our own stuff, our own story, our own feelings? As long as we don't forget that our 'stuff' wasn't acquired in a vacuum,it seems to me that it's okay to write from our own perspective. Ever read Ayn Rand's 'Atlas Shrugged' or 'The Fountain Head'? All about the value of recognizing yourself and acting from your own perspectives. As for COMPROMISE, It's no coincidence the adjective can be either 'compromised' or 'compromising', as in"I'm a compromised man" versus, "I'm a compromising man."
